Motorhead film 'Lemmy' to premiere at SXSW

Lemmy, the documentary about Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister, will have its world premiere at SXSW in Texas in March.

Dave Grohl said 'Fuck Keith Richards, fuck all those dudes who survived the 60s flying around in Lear jets living up their gunslinger reputation as they fuck supermodels in the most expensive hotel in Paris. You know what Lemmy is doing? Lemmy is probably drinking Jack and Cokes and writing another record'.

Alice Cooper called him a pirate. 'Lemmy was at the beginning of heavy metal. Maybe he even predates Black Sabbath. If we were in the 17th century, you don’t think he’d be a pirate? All the guys in Motorhead would be pirates. He is Captain Hook'.

'Lemmy The Movie’ was produced by Greg Oliver and Wes Orchoski who will head to SXSW to seek distribution for the film.

64-year old Lemmy had this to say of the movie 'Amazing! See Lemmy breathe in and breathe out!! See him move his fingers independently!! All singing and dancing!! Give generously!!!'

Elvis remembered on 75th birthday

Fans will be flocking to Graceland today to mark what would have been Elvis Presley's 75th birthday.

The King, who was born on January 8 1935, died on August 16, 1977 aged 42, but his birthday is still celebrated every year by fans all around the world.

Die-hards are expected to descend on his home in Memphis, Tennessee to lay flowers and sing in tribute of the legendary singer, and kick-off a four-day schedule of commemorative events all across the US.

They will be joined by his widow Priscilla Presley and their daughter, Lisa Marie, will gather for a cake-cutting ceremony outside his Graceland home.

Elvis began his career in the 50s as first performer of rockabilly, an up-tempo fusion of country and rhythm and blues with a strong back beat.

He is best know for songs such as Jailhouse Rock and Hound Dog and to date, he is the only performer to have been inducted into three separate music Halls of Fame.

In the 1960s, Presley made the majority of his thirty-three movies - mainly poorly reviewed musicals - but returned to music in 1970, followed by performances in Las Vegas and across the U.S.

Throughout his career, he set records for concert attendance, television ratings and recordings sales.

With 9,680 songs Elvis has the second largest song collection on Nokia Ovi Music behind Frank Sinatra who tops the list with 153 more.

From Graceland to Rio de Janeiro, millions of Elvis Presley fans across the world will celebrate the King of rock 'n’ roll's 75th birthday on Friday January 8 proving his music is still as alive as ever.

Kiss say no to sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll

Kiss say sex, drugs and rock 'n’ roll are for 'losers'.

The legendary US rock band don’t adhere to the commonly used phrase because it glorifies drug use - one of the problems which tore their original line-up apart in 2000.

Bass player Gene Simmons said: 'Even the phrase 'sex, drugs and rock 'n’ roll’ what a losers phrase that is! Why isn’t it just sex and rock 'n’ roll? How did drugs become cool?

'You can’t win a marathon high, you just can’t. Don’t get me started.'

Gene – who claims to have slept with nearly 5,000 women - and singer/guitarist Paul Stanley are the only original members left in the band, who had their heyday in the 70s.

Drummer Peter Criss and guitarist Ace Frehley joined the group for a 1996 reunion but Gene and Paul realised they had still had the problems which originally caused the breakdown of Kiss in the 80s.

Paul said: 'There’s magic in people seeing the original line-up, but from there it was really downhill.'

Gene, 60, added to The Sun newspaper: 'If you listened to it objectively, it grew old pretty quickly. All of the bull-s**t we had to go through with the drugs and booze and lack of self esteem that Ace and Peter had just sucked the life out of us. It’s been a thorn in my side for a long time.'
